The St. David occurrence is located between Jade and Kinskuch lakes, about 46 kilometres southeast of Stewart.

The area is underlain by Lower Jurassic Hazelton Group volcanics and sediments. The St. David showing is hosted in an Eocene(?) porphyritic intrusion of intermediate composition. A rock sample (664567) assayed 0.3 per cent copper and 5.7 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 29753). Copper mineralization also occurs in calcareous and argillaceous sedimentary rocks to the southwest (provisionally named the St. Jake showing).

In 2005, the Rand Edgar Smyth Syndicate staked the Hastings Gold Project claims on account of the highly mineralized nature of the area, and believing that advances in prospecting methods may make possible the discovery of new economic deposits in the area. Later in 2005, Kitsault Resources Ltd. entered into an option to purchase agreement with the Rand Edgar Smyth Syndicate over the Hastings Gold Project, and conducted a stream sediment sampling program over the property in the fall of 2005. The results obtained by Kitsault Resources Ltd. led to an offer in 2006 by Durango Capital Corp. to purchase Kitsault Resources Ltd. In 2007, an extensive program of stream sediment, soil and rock sampling was carried out on the Hastings property claims on behalf of Rand Edgar Smyth Syndicate and Durango Capital Corp.
